Tobacco Curing Barn Monitoring & Control System Zimbabwe

Consistent curing, protected leaf, peace of mind
A curing barn only forgives so much. A few degrees out on the dry bulb, a wet bulb wick that's run dry, or a humidity swing overnight while nobody's watching — and a barn full of leaf can be scorched, sponged or discoloured before morning.

Our system watches every barn around the clock, so curing follows the schedule you set — not whatever happened while the shift was asleep.
{# Params: message, tagline (required). header_stick / footer_stick (optional, default True) - pull this block flush against whatever's directly above/below it (negative margin, see .header-stick/.footer-stick in style.css). Both default on, matching this component's original only use as the very last element on a page. Pass footer_stick=False when something else follows it on the page - otherwise the negative bottom margin pulls that next section up into this one. #}

Curing in November/December 2026? Order remote monitoring by 1 October.

The next install opportunity after that will only be January 2027.

The solution

Dry bulb and wet bulb temperatures are continuously monitored at the points you choose in each barn, alongside kettle temperature and, where it's needed, humidity — the same readings your curing schedule is built around, just taken automatically every few minutes instead of on a manual walk-round.

That data travels by long-distance radio from the barn to our control box on site — the "brain" — and from there up to our cloud database, where you can pull up any barn's readings in real time from your phone or computer, wherever you are.

The diagram below shows how a reading gets from the barn to your pocket:

Diagram showing how Ryzosens monitors a tobacco curing barn: dry bulb and wet bulb sensors inside the barn send data by long-range radio (3-5km) to the Ryzosens control box, which uploads to the cloud server, delivering live readings, charts and alerts to your phone every 5 minutes.

Key Benefits

Every barn, every point that matters

Dry bulb, wet bulb, kettle temperature and humidity, tracked at the positions you choose in each barn — not just one reading assumed to represent the whole space.

WhatsApp alerts

The moment a barn drifts outside the bounds you've set, a WhatsApp alert goes straight to whoever's on shift — no need to be standing in front of a screen to catch it.

Physical alarm

Where a phone alert isn't enough, we can trigger a physical alarm on site too, so an out-of-bounds barn gets noticed even if no one's checking their phone at that moment.

Works with your PID controllers

Already curing with PID controllers on your barns? We can often link directly into them — pulling their data into your dashboard, and, where supported, letting you change target temperatures in real time from wherever you are, without walking out to the barn.

Plus the following...

Guaranteed performance at the risk of our bottom line

Long range WIFICommunicate with sensors and devices over 3km or more.

Real-time AlertsSMS, Whatsapp, Telegram and Email alerts that escalate problems to the right person.

1 Year warrantyNo questions asked replacement of core control box and radio components.
